Polite reminder to all those tech developers, optimizers & designers feeling the AI tsunami is looking more like an apocalypse, that BAD DESIGN IS EVERYWHERE.
If anything, the rise of AI slop has made poorly thought out user experiences even more common.
My latest gripe is with the Waitrose homepage – I’ve placed an order, and it knows I’ve placed an order as I’m logged in. I’m back to amend my order. Instead I have to click through multiple pages? Why?
It should start me with a list of things I’ve ordered, so I can add things and change them.
Good user experience designers will always be essential, and will always be in demand.
